What are the counselling services at Pistos?
At Pistos, we offer a wide range of confidential counselling services to individuals, couples, and families who experience challenges in their life. Among providing services to clients with different issues in general, we specialize in depression, anxiety, and relationships.
Services at Pistos can be provided in English, Cantonese (廣東話), and Mandarin (國語).
Why does Pistos offer online counselling?
Many of our busy clients requested counselling services via online video therapy. Most of them juggle among family, work, and other life responsibilities. Online video therapy allows them to seek services anywhere they are from any device with a secure internet connection and a web browser. This way saves busy clients from taking additional time off from their work to factor in extra time to commute.
What is secure online video therapy?
At Pistos, we use a secure online video therapy platform that is compliant to the Privacy Laws in British Columbia (PIPA) and offers end to end bank-level encryption (SSL) to encrypt all data. Video feature of our platform is secure and private, running exclusively through Canadian-based servers.
Who pays for counselling therapy?
Many Extended Health Care (EHC) Insurances cover counselling services provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). Fees of a RCC are sometimes paid by third parties such as the Employee and Family Assistance Programs (EFAP), ICBC, or the Workers Compensation Board. Please check with your institution, employer, insurance company, or any applicable third parties to confirm coverage.
Fees are to be paid in full directly by the clients at each session unless third party payments have been arranged in advance. You will be provided with a receipt upon payment to submit a claim to your benefits providers if applicable.
What if I need to cancel an appointment?
24 hours prior notice is required to cancel any appointment. Except in extreme circumstances, clients who did not show up for their session or who cancel their session with less than 24 hours notice will be charged for the scheduled session.
